Laochra Og made the long trek from Ballyvourney to Camden last night.
We were down to the bare bones, with holidays and injuries but nevertheless, managed to put out a team with several U12's making the step up.
The first half didn't go according to plan, with the lads not geting into the game and playing second fiddle to a decent West Cork side. We ended up 7 points down at the short whistle but the 2nd half showed a totally different Crosshaven attitude.
Everyone of the players showed pure determination and heart, from Ciaran in goal, Rian centre back, to Ben up in the corner forward position. The lads hurled magnificently and went 4 points up with about 5 minutes to go but unfortunately, Laochra Og scored two late goals to burst our bubble.
The second half performance was a joy to behold and special mention to Flynn McGrath, who played superbly in full forward and chipped in with a goal and a point.
Team: Ciaran O'Keeffe, Eoin Pierse, Thomas McGrath, Daithi O'Leary, Rian O'Neill, Jerry Buckley, Jack Ryan (1-4), Cormac Barry, Oliver Dransfield (0-2), Nicholas Ainscough (1-2), Louis Lacheiner (0-3), Ben Bywater and Flynn McGrath (1-1).
