Crosshaven U11s played in the qualifying round of the John Kerins Football Tournament today, Saturday 25th March, in Shanbally.

The lads played three matches against Ballygarvan, Shamrocks and Passage West. They got straight into their stride with a good performance and win over Ballygarvan. With the sunny day subs were rolling on and off seamlessly and all the boys were contributing to a great performance.

Shamrocks were up next and put it up to the lads in the first half, but Crosshaven had the edge by half time. The boys kept their running and passing game going throughout the second half and pulled away in the end.

Finally, Passage West were our final opponents. They played great football and it was tight the whole way through the first half. In the second half Passage got the upper hand and had Crosshaven pinned in their own half for a stretch, and took a solid lead. But in the dieing minutes the lads got back to their passing dynamic football and ended with a couple of late goals, one with the last kick of the game and securing a hard fought win.

With three wins from three the lads progress to the John Kerins finals in Pairxmc Ui Rinn in June.

Congrat  to the boys and a great showing.

Thanks to the organisers for putting on a great event.
