Crosshaven GAA Juvenile Section End-of-Season Celebration

The Crosshaven GAA Juvenile Section gathered in the Crosshaven Community Hall on Friday evening to celebrate the close of the 2025 GAA season. The event recognised every playing group, highlighted some outstanding achievements, and gave us a chance to hear from several of our club’s talented players.

Our MC for the evening, KC, got things off to a lively start with some GAA trivia and spot prizes before welcoming the younger age groups to the stage. First up were the Indoor Hurling League winning teams, followed by the mighty U6s and U7s, who proudly took their moment in the spotlight.
Next, the U8s to U10s were brought on stage for their team photos, receiving well-deserved applause from the crowd.
We were then treated to a wonderful chat with Crosshaven Camogie U14 County League and Championship-winning captains, Áine Buckley and Saoirse Kane. They spoke about the challenges their team overcame during the year, how they motivated their teammates, and what it means to share success with their friends.

Following that, we recognised the outstanding achievements of Diarmuid Kelly in 2025 with a special presentation. Alongside playing with the club’s U16 and Minor teams, Diarmuid also trained and played with the Cork Football squad, proudly representing the county in matches against Dublin, Meath, and Galway.

The U11s and U12s, along with a few U10s who played up, were next to be honoured, receiving their medals after completing an incredible League and Championship double. Congratulations to this fantastic group of players!

To close the evening, we heard from three inspirational club role models — Sam Glossip, Oisín Buckley, and Ruairc Sisk. They reflected on their season with the DOMs Minor Football team, who went back-to-back in the South East Championship and now look forward to their County Semi-Final this Sunday at 5 p.m. in Bishopstown.

Oisín spoke about how being part of the Cork panel has helped him improve his training and performance with the club, while Ruairc highlighted the significant progress made in U21 and Junior Hurling in recent years — progress that will surely bring further success in the future.

Finally, we brought all our shy and retiring coaches up on stage to give them the recognition they truly deserve! A huge thank you to this amazing and dedicated bunch!

A huge thank you to all the players who attended, our guest speakers, and everyone who helped organise the event. Thanks also to the volunteers who provided catering and to the Crosshaven Community Association for the use of the hall.

And finally, a special word of thanks to KC for keeping everyone entertained throughout the evening.
