Crosshaven 3-12 Ballinora 1-10 in Division 1 League Final in Bishopstown this morning
After a disappointing loss to Ballinora in the Championship final, the sides locked horns again for the League Crown. The conditions were not ideal for either side but Ballinora got off to a flying start with 2 quick points. Crosshaven turned it around very quickly with 1-3 in quick succession. The quality of the Crosshaven play was outstanding with some super link play from defence through to the forward line. It was 2-6 to 0-6 in favour of Crosshaven at half time.
Crosshaven continued to put the pressure on and racked up some great scores without reply and at one point were 11 points in the clear. Ballinora fought back with a fine goal and some points but Crosshaven were not going to let this one go and knuckled down to got some quick points in succession. It was a full squad effort and the Club are very proud of these young men. For those on the age, it is their last outing at U16 level and what a way to finish. A special thanks to John Middleton and Johnny McCarthy for bringing these lads to this standard over the last 10 years or so.
