Yesterday evening we travelled to Donoughmore in the final round robin game of the hurling championship. On a perfect evening for hurling, we played with the slight breeze in the first half. The lads played some fantastic heads up hurling and went into the half time break, a point to the good.
We were level until the final 7 minutes, when Donoughmore struck for a goal and some fine points, leaving us 5 points down at the final whistle.
Everyone of the lads, put their heart and soul into the game and left everything they could out on the pitch. A notable mention to young Tony Fitzgibbon, who came off the bench to score two beautiful goals. Final score - Donoughmore 5-12, Crosshaven 4-10.
We are now into the shield semi-final, against either Liscarroll, Ballygarvan or Shamrocks. Date to be confirmed.
